Lessons
Lessons are conducted in my private studio 10 miles North of Boston. Topics covered include:
- Scales, Modes and Music Theory as applied to the bass
- Rhythmic playing and locking into the groove
- Learning traditions of different genres
- Learning tunes
- Analyzing the styles of different players
- Alternate techniques (slap, tap, etc.)
I work from a number of different lesson sources, including materials covered at different clinics I have attended with such players as Victor Wooten, Steve Bailey, Gerald Veasley, and Anthony Wellington. I also will have students study out of particular method books that I recommend. The purchase of these materials is the responsibility of the student, and I will assist students if they have difficulty locating a particular book.
